Hey Kevin,
ReplyDeleteLooking really solid, all those portraits paid off! I love to texture you've got in the paint, especially on the background -- how did you get this effect? Also, the rendering on the light side of your face is very nice, very subtle. The likeness is very strong.
Not sure if this was intentional or not, but I feel like your edgework is a little overly soft. This is especially noticeable in the dark shirt against the background, but even the shadows around your chin and under your jaw against your neck. Check out some of the Reilly Method stuff -- really hard lines for different shadow areas, but produces a very tight, high degree of realism.
Overall very impressive buddy!! I would love to see more of your classwork and this portrait series!
