Space ships, space guns

Hey everyone,

Hope ya'll have been well!  I bought a Cintiq after finishing up work on Iron Man 3 and have been drawing like a madman for the past month.  Here are some recent designs I did for the comic book I've been working on.

Looking for work now, so if anyone knows anywhere that's hiring, holla atcha boy!

  1. Yo Sam, congrats on finishing up with Iron Man 3. I saw your credits posting on FB, thats so cool. Hope the craziness and work hours at DD was not too bad.
Unfortunately i'm not in any professional circles yet, but if I hear of something i will let you know man.

Cool work here Sam, i love seeing all the concepts you are making for your Titanium Star comic.

What are you going to be up to this summer man?

  2. Hey buddy, thanks for the kind words! The long hours were a bit rough but all in all it was worth it for the education and the money! No regrets.

I'm looking for work now, summer plans might depend on that a little bit, but since I don't currently have anything lined up I'm going to do a little bit of traveling (cousin's wedding in Ohio, Costa Rica with the girlfriend, San Diego Comic Con). I'm thinking about taking James Paick's environments class and/or Jay Oliva's storyboarding class. I'd also like to start learning some ZBrush and/or Maya because I feel like those are really becoming skills that people expect concept designers to have nowadays.

I'd love to take a class with anyone who is around!

  3. Right on Sam. Kickin ass and making money. Thats cool you will be traveling with the g/f. Costa Rica sounds amazing.

Im signing up for James Paiks environment class in the off chance I get in. Jays class sounds great too with him storyboarding for Man of Steel (can't wait). If you haven't seen it yet, the 3rd trailer out for it is crazy.

Good call on learning some 3d, I also heard that it is becoming a necessity in the industry. In addition it is supposed to make things like creature design (zbrush) and vehicle design (maya) much much easier.
